History

Landlords, Inc began in 1966 after recognizing that most Kansas City landlords faced the same issues and that there might be strength in numbers.

Since 1966, Landlords, Inc. has been politically active at all levels to improve the rental housing industry in Kansas City.

Locally, Landlords, Inc has expressed its concern on a variety of issues such as  recycling, business license fees, lead paint poisoning,Inspection  and  recently registration of rental properties and other issues.

This organization has also been a strong supporter of the famed City Council term limits ordinance, which reverted the terms from 3 to 2 years.

We have progressed from an organization of just a few people to a strong group of hundreds who own thousands of houses and apartments in Kansas City and surrounding regions.

Landlords, Inc is every landlord's association. Its existence is bolstered by its success and its growing members who realize the only way to protect and preserve their small business from anti-landlord legislation is to be part of this energetic and active group who speaks out on their behalf.

Sometimes we find out on a short notice that a city council sub-committee is preparing to pass an anti-landlord ordinance quickly, we rush out there dropping some of our priorities to voice our point of view whether we have time to invite other members to join us. But thanks to the internet we can keep ourselves updated ahead of time on the City council weekly agenda. That is the easy part. Next is to go out there and stop some actions to become laws. In this day and age we cannot afford not to be involved in politics, politics is too important to be left to politicians.
